Maui Belly Dance company is a dynamic and unique dance troupe.
They fuse concepts from modern dance and movement from classical and folkloric dance of the middle east. They are a dedicated group of dancers who thrive on developing strong technical skills for polished performances. Their dance style continues to evolve while they are expanding their dance vocabulary on a regular basis.

Lynette Day
Lynette Day is the director of MBDC. She has been dancing for over 20 years and decided to participate in the Eight Elements, Datura™ style training to further her understanding with teaching technique, creating choreography, musicality, improvisational skills, costuming, personal dance practice, performance preparation, development of vocabulary, collaborating with others, and to learn more about the history of belly dance. She enjoys facilitating a growing community through this genre of dance.

Kahri Sahirah
Kahri Sahirah discovered Belly Dance in 2002 and it has been her passion ever since. She has studied many different forms of Belly Dance from Classical Egyptian to Tribal Fusion. Her teachers include Kami Liddle, Zoe Jakes, Mirayah Delamar, Ansuya, Sadie, Lynette Day and many others. She has been privileged to dance with Sacred Earth Bellydance, Raks Shakti and, most recently, Maui Belly Dance Company. She also regularly performs as a soloist.

Juyhun Kim
Juyhun is a healing artist and holistic physical therapist who likes to explore the various forms of movement through various dance styles ( belly dance, contact dance, qigong , Tahitian, hula, Odissi )
She is passionate about the potential power of alchemy incorporating conscious movement and different healing modalities.
Through intention, cultivation of the energetic elements of nature, and creative self-expression, one can ultimately transform, heal, and vitalize our bodies and others.
